Sequence
Programming Basics: The Default Sequence
Provides a detailed explanation of
the Default Sequence and the TEST Sequence Item.
Particular emphasis is placed on error handling.
Fixture Clamp Activation
Explains
how to program the Analyzer to activate a fixture clamp to release
a wiring harness
only after it passes all tests, ensuring that harnesses are
completely tested before removal from
the test fixture.
How To Prevent Removal of Harness From
Fixture Before Testing is Completed
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to enter an alarm mode if the wiring harness is removed
before all the tests are completed.
The alarm mode requires keyed supervisory intervention to
reset – this ensures that all
wiring harnesses are completely tested before removal from the test
fixture.
How to program the Analyzer to check continuity
in random order
Explains how to use the
CONTINUITY-RND Sequence Item. This eliminates the need for “wiggle-
jiggle” of connectors to establish
continuity in a pre-defined order.
How to ensure that a harness is completely
tested when the previous harness is prematurely removed from the
fixture
Explains how to use the
SCANBRK Sequence Item.
Label Printing
Explains the many capabilities
offered by Dynalab’s label printers. Particular emphasis is
placed
on printing a label only when the harness passes all tests.
Explains how to print a variety of
parameters including Operator ID,
Serial Number, Date and Time, Company Logo, etc.
How to Print a Harness Label and a Box
Label
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to print two distinct labels: one for each good harness,
and another for the box in which
the good harnesses are packaged.
Receipt Printer
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to output error information to a Receipt Printer.
Using The Bar Code Scanner To Validate
Product Identification
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to scan bar-coded product information from a wiring
harness label, and validate
that the product ID is correct.
Using the Bar Code Scanner for Test Program
Selection
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to scan bar-coded product identification information
from
a harness label, then select and execute the associated test
program.
Detecting the Presence of Mechanical Features
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to check the status of fixture mounted detection switches
in order to detect the presence of
mechanical features of a wiring harness such as connectors,
secondary locks, retainer clips,
etc. This extends the capability of the Analyzer beyond
electrical testing, ensuring that
the non-electrical mechanical features of the harness are
assembled properly.
Relay Module
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to energize and de-energize the Relay Module to control
external electrically-actuated devices.
Testing Electrical Parts That Mate With
a Connector
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to test for the presence of parts that are designed
to
mate with a harness connector and that change the electrical
configuration of the harness.
Examples are shorting caps, fuses,
relay coils, light bulbs, and switches.
Testing Switches In A Wiring Harness
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to test switches that are part of a wiring harness
allowing
testing of switches in each possible position.
Resistor Testing: 1K to 50K Ohms
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to test for the presence of a resistor in a wiring
harness
whose value is between 1000 ohms and 50,000 ohms.
Resistor Testing: 1000 Ohms or less
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to test for the presence of a resistor in a wiring
harness
whose value is 1000 ohms or less.
Capacitor Testing: 0.1uF to 470uF
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to test for the presence of a capacitor in a wiring
harness
whose value is between 0.1uF and 470 uF.
Testing Diodes / LEDs in a Wiring Harness
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to perform diode / LED testing by ensuring that continuity
is present in the forward direction
and that continuity is not present in the reverse direction. This
ensures that the diode / LED has
been assembled in the harness with the proper orientation.
How to Set a Warning Condition When a Short
Error Occurs
Explains how to program
the Analyzer to stop the test and sound a warning whenever a short
error occurs. This warning condition
requires supervisory intervention to reset.
